one last thing on my 2008 art list of things to do ... finish one last commissioned piece that is meant to be a christmas gift ... whew! did i ever procrastinate that one .... even when i had the time to get it done, i didn't... even when i knew life was about to go crazy and that i needed to get moving, i didn't ... but now ... with just days to spare ... done ... finally ... whew ... and ahhhhhhhhhhhh ... what a relief ... this was commissioned by a mom for her daughter .... has been delivered, and by now, is probably wrapped and under the tree ...
what groovy things have you put under the tree? my grooviest thing has not been delivered yet! eep!!! but i have faith it will arrive tomorrow ... right?
my family did get three different types of christmas treats made today... three kids, three different baking tasks ... thank heavens for the grandma! ....
ok ... what's the grooviest gift you are giving ... and what your one last thing you'd like to get done before christmas ....

beautiful piece, ee! i think we are ready. i counted all the presents under the tree the other day and realized 16 of 18 of them were for the girls. and none of those were even from us! geez! have a wonderful christmas with your family!
WOW! you've been busy. hope your last minute gift shows up on time.
the grooviest thing for us this holiday? we're staying put - not going anywhere for the first time ever. pajamas and hibernation for a whole week!
I wouldn't call this gift "groovy" but it will be fun. I bought my 53 yo DH Tinker Toys.....a huge barrel of them. Our kids never had them, he used to love them. He passes by a big Toys for Tots barrel every day when he goes to work and keeps talking about this big thing of Tinker Toys that's in it. So he's getting his very own set....300 pieces!
This grandma loved the baking with the grandchildren....And to think most of the "product" is almost gone and it is not even Christmas Eve yet!! =-)
Well, I am not the best gift-giver in the world. I end up forgetting what people have said they want, or I remember it a year after they already got one. As for hand-made, I tend to do okay there, because they are things no one has seen before and so can't know they do or don't want it.
But this year, I guess the best thing I'm giving is a Wii Fit machine. And I'm also forgiving someone something. And really, considering all that I've wished to be forgiven of, that might be considered the best gift. Gifts that can't be measured are the best. Like your commissioned canvas, which is beautiful.
Happy Christmas to you and your family, and your sweet animal companion(s).
We are set for the holidays here...and the snowing constantly seems to have stopped.
Best gift...a GINORMOUS bird feeder that matches my parents house. It's a fly-through so they can see all the bird activity.
I love your vibrant art work, great blog too!
what a GLORIOUS commission piece! fantastic!!
hmmm ... grooviest? that would have to be the matchbox drawer for the spouse ... last thing? that groovy matchbox drawer *giggles*
Merry Christmas to the ebeckartist family!
Interesting question--I think that the grooviest gift I'm giving is a painting I created especially for my Mom, you can see a pic of it on my last blog post or the one from the 26th. I had the blessing of some really great comments from people that have received my artwork for the holidays and it really, really made me beam from ear to ear to hear how much they loved it. It makes it all worthwhile in so many ways :)
Happy Holidays to you and yours!
