good news bad news .....

good news, bad news ... that's never good right ... cause there's bad news in there ...

.....but .... as far as your world goes ... i'm pretty sure this bad news won't be knocking you down .... i'm going on a technology fast .... no blogging, facebook, email, internet for the next five days ... bad news for you if you are expecting a blog post, an email, a comment at your blog, or witty repartee at facebook ... no banter ... electronic banter free week (ebfw) .... that's the bad news ... probably worse for me than for you, huh?

and the good news .... the good news (again, probably better for me than for you) ... the good news is that i am going to paint and paint and paint and paint and paint and paint and paint ... and when i'm done? i'm going to paint some more ... noon sunday to noon friday with no electronic connection ... all paint brush connections .... i will still eat sleep and exercise .... but not too excess ... i'll only eat when i'm hungry ... or if someone tells me i have to eat with them (come to dinner NOW) ...i'll only sleep when i'm past the point of caffeine not doing the trick .... and i'll excercise two or three times a day in small doses when i need to walk or jog off the acrylic paint miasma in my brain .... (i'm certain i've never used the word miasma before in a post) ... ok ... i just looked up miasma and that is way overstating it ... when i start to feel fuzzy i'll go for a walk .... i take back my hyperbole ....

anyway ... to reiterate ... five days of only thinking about painting... no electronic fix... no facebook high ... no blog buzz ...... no electronics ... and occasional eat sleep exercise ... with a hefty splash of fully caffeinated diet coke in there too ....

so .... when i slide off my techno sabbatical, i'll have a bunch of paintings to show you .... i'm going into it with two started and SO nearly finished .... (these are yours, helen) .... i need to do shading on some purple and blue pears and i need to make a heavy nest feel lighter and airier .. like a bird made it and not a big fat paintbrush .... that means i'll use my teeeeeeniest thinnest brush to make it more thready ... like the nest making bird stole threads and hairs to make the nest ... right now it looks like the bird used a chainsaw or something .... ah .... it is currently a dinosaur nest more than a bird nest ... not to worry, helen, i'm fixing it momentarily on my ebfw ..... hence, i'm getting in one last stream of consciousness banter while i can ....

trying again to complete the thought ... so ... when i slide off my techno sabbatical, i'll have a bunch of paintings to show you .... GUESS HOW MANY? ...i'm going into it certain i'll finish these two and one more ... but ... i believe i could finish five ... or ten ... or a dozen ... or twenty ... or five thousand nine hundred and sixty four .... ok ... maybe not that many ....

ponder this:
can e live a techno free life?
does she actually want a techno free life?
will she sneak onto facebook?
will she lurk blogs?
will her brain explode from over caffeination?
does she really think caffeination is a word?
does she really think she'll exercise?
is she going to be a paint spattered mess the whole time?
why didn't she mention maintaining good hygeine?
is talking in the third person part of her new delirium?

stay tuned .... i'll be back friday at noon ... or noonish .... or 11.59 .... or 3 ... not really, not three .... hopefully returning to your incredulous blog comments (what were you thinking? why aren't you answering my emails?) and your guesses (of course you can do a dozen ... go for two dozen ... did you do 5,964?) .... until then, cherish your laptop, i'll miss mine ....

wait, can i post art pics in progress to facebook? using my iphone? is that cheating? .... alas, i'm having trouble stopping this post ... sniff sniff ... good bye sweet, lap top .....

I never post my work to facebook because I don't trust them. But otherwise... I look FORWARD to your PAINTINGS!

Good for you, taking a techno break...
