happy day gift

hi everybody....i'm home......
my family of five was in england...visiting my oldest brother's family of five......when it was time to leave england, we weren't ready to go home.... until sophie remembered we absolutely couldn't stay any longer....we had to hurry home for the dog......
the week before london, i picked up six pieces of pottery from the kiln room.....this one i gave to ashley as a thank you for taking such good care of my baby....i mean, my dog......
thanks, dear ashley...and a happy day to you.......

while in england i was very dilligent in my journal keeping......to the point that i was rationing the last few journal pages, for fear i'd run out before the trip was over......one week, and one whole journal smashed full of happiness......rah!

while in england i went to the tate modern....FABULOUS museum.....before going in (while eating ice cream) i asked my kids what artists we should search for inside....they named picasso, matisse, monet, warhol, and pollock....we saw all of them except a pollock.......multiple picassos, a superlative orangey matisse collage, a GRAND and LARGE monet, a brillo warhol, but, alas, no pollock....or not that we could find......we also spent a bit of time in a room FULL of rothko's.....we saw a mondrian that my kids pointed out as one they KNOW i'd love and ooooh and aaahhhhh......there was a huge lichtenstein that we all appreciated (maybe not so much andy, actually) ......a great calder mobile......i could go on and on.......i'd like to tell you that the tate modern was my favorite bit of our england trip....but really, probably just having my kids with their cousins was probably the best.....and the best place was probably warwick castle.......like the plate says: happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy day

To London and back! Wow, what a fun time for your families to visit in person! And, to visit the art museum must have "really filled your happy bucket!"
