101,102

here are my next two paintings .... 101 and 102 ....

they are each six inches square ... part of the fifteen canvases that i prepped with papers and glazes and stenciling .... and am calling my branch series ... all in preparation for an art show i am doing at the beginning of november .....

i was reading someone's blog ... i just looked so i could give them credit...but can't find it .... and she said she felt like she had a blog burqua .... that she didn't give personal details .... that her blog was "veiled" as it were .... i have an "art blog" ... i mostly tell you about my art and artlife ...with just titches of other stuff ... cause i don't do art in isolation ... i do art in the midst of my big messy life ..... i don't really feel "burqua'd" ....but .... maybe i'm not personal enough (though, i wonder how interesting the personal stuff actually is!)
so ... here it is ....

mr.e.beck.artist is on a business trip ... i miss him, and everything seems just a little bit harder!

.... i lost my tennis match this morning .... wah! my learning curve is just not steep enough ... i SO want to be better than i am!

..the.e.beck.artist.twins are in middle school now and it is killing me! it is hard ... they both seem to be managing better than i am!

but ...
on the bright side ....

a lovely friend invited us to dinner tonight (rah! no cooking for moi)

the dog is going to the groomer tomorrow ... her matted stinky self was making it harder to fully love her!

i'm taking my car to the big deal car cleaner tomorrow ... i think if they could pick it up and shake it out, they'd get pounds and pounds of crumbs ...a summer's worth of sand and snacks ..... alas, a vacuum will have to do .....

i have tennis practice tomorrow ... practice is good ... i rock at practice .... just don't rock at real matches!

and i started some ORANGE poppies ... just lovely .... hooray for orange ... hooray for poppies ...

so ... my burqua is off for the moment ... and i am going to go to bed and read about vampires .... the best book i've read in quite a while

what are you reading ... what have you left out, in our blog dialogue?

"a blog burqua", what a great description. My blog is a mix of things I'm doing like art and cooking and reading. Of course that is personal but not in depth.

I do post a book reveiw just about every Wednesday so check in tomorrow to see what I've been reading.

Can't wait to see the orange poppies.

we have the business trip thing going on here too so i am now in that 'minimalist parenting' mode. hm, as for blog revelations?
i like your blog because you describe your thought process, as well as how your daily life shapes your art - for you they seem intertwined. art is so much more interesting and meaningful to me when i know a little bit of the story behind it. yet you don't treat the blog as a spill-and-tell-all, which i like too. it's just the right balance.

ya! fun day, except sig other away.

my 13 year old son just gave a great review of a not very 13 yr old appropriate zombie novel he read this summer. if you like vampires, maybe zombie s are close enough: World War Z by Max Brooks
