JOY post 4... hooray ...
today's joy: decorated our christmas tree ..... girl.beck.artist and little.e.beck.artist ooooohing and aaaaahing their favorite ornaments as they came out of the box....
preparation: wow! looks like the christmas monster came and threw up .... there are boxes and tissues and half done holiday all over the place .... so much for slow and steady .... everyone kinda opened all the christmas boxes and did their favorite (or in some cases assigned) bits ..... and, well ... we'll clean up tomorrow ... or the next day!
serenity: i have a bunch of christmas books and have them all together for easy holiday reading .... santa mouse? night before christmas? miracle on 34th? multitudes of versions of the baby jesus' birth? got 'em all .... ready to read ....

then mr.e.beck.artist and little.e.beck.artist put on the lights ....
it takes a long time to put on a lot of lights ....
but then you get the joy of pulling all those decorations out of the box and putting them on the tree ....
the extent of my artsiness today was hot gluing some ornaments that needed mending!
tomorrow, i hope to work on some ornaments .... and tuesday i plan to do some painting .... and wednesday i plan to have a big brunch .... so maybe i'll have all the christmas storage boxes put away by then!

Oh, my gosh! You have one of those monstrously tall Christmas trees! I always wanted one of those when I was a kid but my mom said they were too much trouble.
april, i always tell my husband to get a tree THIS tall ... and i raise my hand over my head .... to about his height .... and we get a six to seven foot tree ... this year, i ordered it online to benefit habitat for humanity ... i ordered a seven foot tree and this one is EASILY nine feet ... too big for me .... luckily, the elves i had decorated it liked standing on the chairs to decorate ...
